Why should anything said in the bible dictate what our laws should be? I thought there was a little thing called separation of church and state.
A real argument should be posed here for voting against gay marriage.

How about allow legal unions and not call them actual marriages? While the title used is different and the function pretty much the same, I think that religion, for the most part, has clout and considerable investment in the sacrament of matrimony. The religious and conservatives must not be forced by state to recognize gay people as married or not (as they have vested interest and dominance in that). Legal unions on the other hand should not be a problem to the conservative as it is not the business of their religion. And since they are legally united and not religiously married, while it is an obvious technicality, the religious cannot and must not interfere with their status anymore.

Geez, let same sex mirage legal and stop hiding behind a bible already. If you going to be representing for people, you got to have the view of everyone from man, women, child, rich, poor, black, white, old, young, gay, straight, christian, jewish, muslim, disabled, abled and everyone in between.  My point is that think what’s right for everyone instead of one group.

Soooo…personally, he thinks gay marriage is okay, but because it says in a book that gay marriage is wrong, he’s going against what he believes at his core? If you use the Bible (or any other religious text) as your reasoning for passing laws that affect the state or nation at large, you should be kicked out on your ass. This man, and others like him, don’t deserve to honor to represent other citizens.
