The reason libraries have to use this seemingly bitchy strategy (besides the fact that most librarians are bitches) is that there is a huge number of homeless people who gravitate towards libbies.

Having worked at libraries, I just have to say, if you've ever seen a public computer keyboard…some of those signs, nuts as they are, are obvious. If 1000+ people a month could eat AND type… O_o And do not CHEW on the headphone cords? Really? That actually had to be posted? That's slightly disconcerting.
