obama cannot declare anything unconstitutional. he is president, not a judge. opinions of constitutionality lie within the judiciary.

People are over-hyping this.

All of you think it is so easy for the president to come in to office and do the things they promise. Every president promises stuff and they hardly ever produce because of a little thing called government. “NO NEW TAXES” Ring a bell? Every POTUS tries to do the things they promised yet they get shut down for so many other reasons than we could possibly understand. Democrat, republican, whatever you are. Everyone deserves a chance. Things don’t happen overnight.

Thousands of same sex couples? Really? Homosexuality occurs (on average) in 10% of human beings. Try ‘millions’ of same sex couples. Please and thank you.

Just so you all know, had the DOJ defended the DOMA act to its ultimate conclusion (the declaration of its unconstitutionality by the US Supreme Court), Republicans would never be able to pull this shit again. I imagine that was their plan from the beginning, and I thought it was rather clever. Now there is still a small window of discrimination open to the Right Wing.

Finally this POTUS starts doing ONE thing that he promised when he was elected 2.5 years ago.

To be fair, they will stop defending PART of DOMA.
