Kelly Clarkson Is Voting For Obama Because Of Her Gay Friends
Remember when Kelly Clarkson’s Ron Paul endorsement earlier this year pissed a bunch of people off? Well, that whole Ron Paul thing didn’t work out, so Kelly Clarkson has decided to vote for President Obama. Here’s what she said about it to the UK’s Daily Star magazine.
Why she’s voting for Obama:
“I’ve been reading online about the debates and I’m probably going to vote for Obama again, even though I’m a Republican at heart. I can’t support Romney’s policies as I have a lot of gay friends and I don’t think it’s fair they can’t get married.”
She’s also voting for Obama because of women’s issues. She said:
“I’m not a hardcore feminist but we can’t be going back to the 50s.”

primavolta 6 months agoI always laugh when people talk about hardcore feminists. Most feminists these days want pretty reasonable things: reproductive rights and care, equal employment amd education opportunities, and eliminating sexual violence. I don’t know what would be considered hardcore feminism - no bras or legshaving? There are feminists who make those personal choices but these days it’s not a major concern and the stereotype of feminists hating men (I only date men and probably have equal male amd female friends) is a tired, kneejerk reaction.
