Bubs a year agoI think it was a major win. I cried. And what a class act being called upon for such a task in less than 24 hours notice. It would have been nice to hear her mother (in fact I listened to some last night on youtube), but you have to remember her mother is devastated right now. Asking her to perform is inappropriate at best. She’s a mother who just lost her child the day before. Another reason that J Hudson was a good choice is because she shows that Whitney lives on in the next generation. It will be hard to ever, ever compare with THAT voice, but there were definitely certain attacks and notes and phrases that J Hudson did that brought Whitney to mind….and that’s what it’s all about.

leighannq a year agoYes that’s Dolly’s song, but we weren’t paying tribute to a song, we were paying tribute to an artist. Would it have been nice to have a friend or family member pay tribute? Yes, but I thought it was just as, if not more, touching to have a someone obviously influenced by her to pay tribute. She did a beautiful job.

elizabethcareys a year agoI disagree. She looked affected and was the wrong choice to pay tribute to Whitney. Out of respect, no one (except maybe Dolly) should have sung that song.
