Hippos are scalovores (only eat scales)! crocs and hippos constantly clash when faced off with one another, the hippo will bite to kill the croc but will ONLY eat its scales and leave the de-scaled but still alive body. I live in New York City BTW, where wild is the norm around here.

Guy! Please! Hippos are fecalvores (feed on poop). Crocs and hippos constantly try to get inside each others' heads. The hippo will gnaw a bit to scare more poop out of the croc, but it WONT eat it. I live in Oregon BTW where seeing freaky shit that isn't real is the norm around here.
