I’ve just spent the last five minutes trying to figure out what the percentage would be for the (made-up and totally not real) TGS with Tracy Jordan. As near as I can figure it, women make up 40% of the writing staff… unless Pete is counted among the writers. Then it’s 33.3% (Liz and Sue vs. Toofer, Frank, Lutz, and possibly Pete) Also, based on the chart above, shouldn’t TGS have like 10 more writers?

Chelsea Handler isn’t funny and she has 50% female writers, neither is Leno and he only has1 (out of 20). Empirically women are no more or less funny then men - QED!

Taking a risk here:
is it fair to say that women are possibly less likely to be funny, or perhaps really embrace humor. as opposed to men. I’m not saying they can’t be as funny, and I know plenty of funny girls, but… is it possible that genders are different?

also forgot Gilda Radner, Miranda Hart, Sarah Silverman, Erin Gibson, the list goes on with some of the funniest female comedians.

Yes because Tina Fay, Amy Polar, Mindy Kaling, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders are all horribly unfunny women! I believe the main reason is because men have big baby egos and don’t want to let a silly old girl beat them at anything!
