  • funny! although i have to add, the fan did not lose the game for the home team. this was from the liverpool v. sunderland match played at sunderland. the beach ball got in the way of the liverpool defender's ability to stop the ball from going in the net, but it helped the home team score. incidentally, the fan who threw the ball on the pitch was a liverpool fan, so he helped sunderland score against his team. also, the referee who allowed this goal to stand (under the laws of the game it should have been disallowed) has been demoted to a lower league.
