And convenient that you left out the bit in this clip where Coons couldn’t even say what rights actually WERE in the first amendment. I guess illiterate people are attracted to illiterate candidates.

It just feels awkward because it looks like she thinks the crowd is laughing with her because she just made some great point that blew her opponent out of the water. It doesn’t look like she realizes they’re laughing at her.

Also, I hope all of you get your news and form opinions using other sources besides buzzfeed. Even MSNBC gives full record of the debate where she is pointing out that it isn’t in there and was questioning if he knew that. You realize the joke is on the laughers. Separation of Church and State isn’t anywhere in the constitution or amendments. It was written in a letter from jefferson to a Baptist group.

Having literally just gotten back to my room after handing in a 9-page paper on the founders’ visions for religious freedoms and a pluralist society that recognizes no religious establishment, this gave me quite a chuckle.
