Cornell’s Pi Phi Sorority Dress Code
The Pi Phi sorority at Cornell University has 6 pages worth of dress code requirements! I wonder if they follow the “slut rule” for Halloween.

Seriously, we get that it's for recruitment, but I wouldn't even want to live like this for a week of my life. I'm not going to pay $300 for a pair of shoes because cheap shoes “bug” you. Girls, please say no to a sorority…I never joined and had a great college experience, and made friends on my own terms. Also, chunky shoes are not cute. You know what I'm saying?

This is clearly for rush, as has been noted, so is less overbearing than it may seem. However, their rush chair sounds like a narcissistic control freak. She also can't spell. (Cornell? really?)

You'd think someone who goes to Cornell would know the proper use of the term “a.k.a”. Pretty sure “booties if you can pull them off” and “probably not” are not interchangeable. Maybe she's just trying to keep it casual; but booties if you can pull them off. Just saying.

oh and and BTW THIS IS FOR RUSH!!!!!!!! congratualions, you posted what you thought was new information that you analyzed on your very own, thus making you the most discerning internet dude in the world! seriously, people, read other people's comments before you troll the message boards with 10 million repeats.

at my school which shall not be named (in the top 20 nationally, so had both intelligent students as well as super rich kids), I knew of a few sororities who had dress codes for the week and would also institute a few “casual” days. their dress codes would extend throughout the year. so yeah.
-
yeah, sorry everyone, but this dress code is only for “Rush” - the time where potential new members have a chance to meet the sorority - then see which sorority has decided to bid (ie. accept them). Its quite staged no matter who the sorority is, or which school you're at. Most likely the different dress codes were for different theme parties. It's not really that sensational, but is silly and stupid haha.
-
Obviously no fraternity-knowledgeable people reacting. This would pertain to RUSH ONLY which is when the girls are putting their best foot forward to attract new members in a very formal process for a few events in a compressed time frame at the beginning of the year..hence the “round” headlines..

Sounds like this is for Rush, not all the time. All sororities do this during Rush.
-
this is for rush week, aka: recruitment. it's probably not like this all the time. i'm in a sorority, so i understand the strict dress code and need for uniformity at big open events, but to me, even this is a bit much. i mean, i don't really think the extra comments were needed… stay to strictly details.
-
as others have clearly said, this is a schedule of things to wear during recruitment (aka “rush”), and pretty much every female greek organization everywhere has a dress code for each day/round of events. this isn't for everyday.
-
fyi internet, Tory Burch shoes are hideous and overpriced.
-
DEAR INTERNET, YOU KNOW NOTHING OF GREEK LIFE
That being said, this is almost definitely for recruitment and to put on their best face for new girls. Believe me, if they're anything like the sorostitutes at my school they wear sweats as frequently as HUMANLY POSSIBLE.
-
http://www.pibetaphi.org/pibetaphi/cornell/ Not so good. They got 99 problems and the dress code ain't one…
-
I'd like to see a picture of these girls I'd “die to hang out with”.
-
This makes me want to throw up. Honestly, who the f*ck cares what color jeans they wear or weather they are straight or flared? This girl sounds like a serious control freak/ nazi. It's COLLEGE. PEOPLE GO TO CLASS IN PJ'S. WTF ARE YOU THERE FOR? Basically this dress code is “whatever crazy bitch thinks looks cool”. I'll care what you think looks cool when you're the editor for vogue rather than some lamo trying to convince other binge drinkers that you're “cool”.
-
I'll join a sorority if I can find one that allows me to wear sweatpants to every event. Hah!
