black face insulted African Americans by creating a stereotype akin to a clown. darkening her face with makeup is far from that stereotype, it only has one thing in common. think of it like a tan, it only enhances her beauty

This isn't blackface. Blackface involved exaggerated light pink lips contrasted with pitch black skin and essentially required the actor to portray him/herself as an uneducated, yet jolly idiot.  It was considered high comedy up until about 90 years ago. Simply wearing make-up which darkens the skin (or even makes one look like a black person) is not blackface.
