If you can’t care for your pets, give them to someone who can.

We just got a shelter dog, and she is a beautiful blessing. I hope we enrich her life as much as she does ours

#24 holy sh!t. o_o You can’t even tell what it is in the first shot. What an improvement he’s made! People who adopt are amazing. <3 I’m hoping to adopt both children and my pets when I’m older. :] When you adopt you make a life so much better… Rock on adoptive parents. <3

About a month ago I adopted a two-month old black kitty from a shelter, and even after a week you could see the difference, he got (healthy) fat, his hair got shinier, and maybe it’s just my crazy cat lady talking but I could swear that even his eyes and his look have changed

In my opinion, anyone who pays for a purebred is an idiot. Why encourage people to breed more animals when there are already so many in need? Every animal I have owned has been a stray, from a shelter, or from a friend who couldn’t take care of it any more.

There are so many baby pigs and cows who need help too. Yet we choose to eat them

Don’t know how to vote on this one. Before picture makes me feel disgusted by heartless humans who mistreated them. The after picture makes me wanna high five the nurturing good people who helped them get back to health.

There are some seriously fucked up people in this world.

My dog, a springer/cocker spaniel mix, came to me after 2 different homes only a year into his life. The first owners left him behind with the explanation that they had purchased a new dog they liked better. (At least they gave him up instead of continuing to ignore him)
His next owners locked him in a small bathroom without food or water.
We’ve had him now for 5 years and he is such a joy. He runs on the farmland around us until his heart’s content. He is spoiled like no other by my step-father, who recently bought him a heated bed for the winter. When the dog needed ACL surgery, he had a padded wagon so he could still ride along when we took walks.
He is the sweetest, most loving, loyal dog and I love him so much.
Needless to say, he has the love he deserves and a spoiling to make up for his past hardships.

The before pictures upset me so much, to do that to an animal, a defenseless creature that just wants a home and wants to be loved is disgusting. People should have to go through a test or some type of evaluation to have a pet. I feel like being able to have such a thing is an absolute privilege that all these abusers took advantage of.
