Let me preface: This is a good cause. BUT….. I would like to see the statistics on the suicide rates for gay teens as well as overweight teens. Bullying doesn't help, but I feel like there's a deeper issue than just getting teased.

SuperC, I totally agree with what you're saying. My feeling is just that I thought Ellen could have focused more on saying to those bullied kids “Be strong, there is plenty of room in this world for you”, “Just look at me, Ellen”. But instead she made it seem like bullying was the judge jury and executioner of these kids. It's not that simple. It contributed I agree, but it's more complex.  Forgive the hyperbole for a moment but I wouldn't want a kid to feel like this;(Insert 1950's PSA voice) “Well Johnny, looks like we couldn't quite stamp out bullying in time for you to come out of the closet. Oh well, it looks like you're gonna have to kill yourself”.

There is no message from Ellen that I would find important, just saying.

This is the second day in a row that Buzzfeed has made me cry/tear up. Can't there be a disclaimer for that? Like NSFE?

I completely understand why she's doing this and I think it is a very good idea. But literally speaking, when you kill yourself it's usually because you killed yourself. Bullies? Bullies are a part of life. How about making the world more accepting to gay people? And to that I would say that Ellen is already doing it. Really well at that. So you can insinuate that having been videotaped while having gay sex is cause for suicide but ultimately you're implying that “being outed” in such a way is actually a LEGITIMATE REASON to kill oneself. Ellen is that what you're saying? Cuz I'd have to disagree with that.

So how is this trashy, natureboy?
