I think it's funny that people are still saying they've only been married 72 days since Kim filed divorce. They haven't divorced so this was posted as of their 74th day of marriage.

I couldn't agree more with this post but we shouldn't blame poor kimmy for all the world's problems, she's a famewhore but I'm sure she supports gay rights! It's not her fault, it's this f**ked up system…

Its rationale does not apply to same-sex couples who are ethically and naturally disqualified from parenthood. Same-sex couples, like some single heterosexual adults who rely on artificial insemination or surrogates to produce children without a spouse, ethically disqualify themselves from parenthood by selfishly withholding from children a fundamental human right – the right to be born to a mother and a father. Intentionally denying a child a mother and father is child abuse. When will we protect the HUMAN RIGHTS of children? Adults, whether homosexual or heterosexual, who would intentionally deny artificially-created children a mother and a father should be legally barred from artificial insemination and from surrogately-conceiving children.  Mark Adams Brown

I love this, but I do have one comment on number 12 - please use person-first language - “children with developmental disabilities,” not “developmentally disabled children.” Everyone deserves to be treated as equals.

My husband and I have been married a few weeks short of a year. We got married in Washington DC, but live in North Carolina. Unfortunately, our marriage means nothing in NC. God forbid either one of us ends up in the hospital, since we're an interracial, gay male couple, there's little hope of the other getting back to the emergency room.  Every federal and state form we fill out must say single, even when we bought our house. I don't understand how we are the ones destroying the sanctity of marriage, when any heterosexual couple is allowed to get married whenever they want, with little to no consequence. At only a year, we've already lasted longer than many straight couples, yet their marriage is still more valid than ours. If they don't allow gay marriage, they shouldn't allow divorce either! Divorce seems to be the real culprit in destroying the sanctity of marriage!

I want Kim Kardashian is sentenced to pay all those couples' wedding as a result for her divorce.

I've been divorced twice. It was never the fault of a gay man (or woman) it was however the fault of two heterosexuals. :)

I have been with my parent for 18 years. While the state we live in (MN) does not recognize our relationship our families do!! They know our wishes if anything happens and we both have written and notorized wills that WILL be honored! I for one am sick of people talking about the “sanctity” of marriage when they are on their 3rd or 4th marriage or are married for a matter of months and in some cases hours. I know many gay couples that have been together longer than many straight couples. And have you noticed most of the people talking about the “sanctity” of marriage are single?! How is letting 2 people who love and support each other get married going to effect your straight life and marriage??

I am sad to live in a country where you still can't marry whoever you so choose to marry. I don't understand how our country has the right to define what marriage is. They'll argue that it's defined in the bible as between man and woman…. But here's the thing, there is SUPPOSED to be separation of Church and state. America is not SUPPOSED to be a Christian nation… that's what America was founded for… RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. Rather freedom FROM religion.  That said, how is it that atheists can get married??? I wonder…  Bottom line is this: State and Country should have no say in who can and can not be married as long as they are of age and willing. Churches and other religious institutions do NOT have to marry people, they have that right…. but the government does NOT have that right.

My cousin is a nurse for sick children who have been essentially abandoned by their parents. She has been with her partner for four years. They both love children, and all the kids in our family adore them. They can neither adopt children of their own (they'd be awesome mothers), nor can they get married.
HOWEVER, I read the other day that Rob Pattinson and K Stewert are married in the eyes of the church because a real priest performed the fake wedding in the new Twilight movie.
Maybe things will get better once all the cranky baby boomers die off – the same generation who so arrogantly claimed to have 'saved the world' with their political/social movements while at the same time gobbling up all the social security and medicaid like fucking vultures.

Perhaps the silver lining to this Kardashian ridiculousness is that it provides a vehicle to keep the fight for marriage equality relevant in the eyes of the media.

That marriage was a sham before it became a shame.

My Wife and I have been together for 9 years and have two children. The fact that people like Kim K. and others that take getting married for granted and then divorce a short time later is shameful. There need to ne Marriage Equality Now!!! Just because the person we love doesn't conform to the “norm” doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to have a long lasting attempt at marriage and get afforded the same rights as hetrosexuals. Think about it ,WE ARE THE NEW NORMAL.
