More than 70 were injured, two critically, officials say, when a Seastreak ferry from Highlands, NJ docked hard at Pier 11 at South St. in lower Manhattan today. A total of 74 people were taken to hospitals from the scene, police say.
"Basically it was a hard landing - looks like it was 10-12 knots," NYC Dept. of Transportation commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan said at a press conference from the scene earlier. FDNY also confirmed that one critically injured fell down the stairs. The investigation is ongoing.
