12 Reasons Why Sydney Uni Needs Its Own Metro Station

The last time the NSW State Government announced a new, modern public transport system for Sydney, this is what we got. But in the last couple of months, it may actually have come up with a good idea: a proper underground Metro that would link the CBD, north and south-western Sydney, and possibly - hope 50,000+ students – the University of Sydney.Just what would a Sydney Uni Metro station mean? All aboard the hype train!

1. Say goodbye to the epic journey to Mordor, I mean, Redfern station

2. It’ll be much shorter distance to sprint when you rock up late for that exam you remembered you forgot…

3. Sydney Uni is basically Hogwarts anyway. It NEEDS a platform 9 ¾

This should be reason enough.

4. Because parking is definitely still not an option

5. and Redfern is far from accessible

It was built in 1906 after all, back when folk didn’t really care about the needs of other folk… excellent dalek trap – rubbish public facility. And that one measly lift they haven’t built yet won’t cut it.

7. Every trip to uni from North of the bridge will go UNDER Sydney Harbour

Technically, you’d be taking a submarine to uni. As you do.

8. You’ll get an extra 20 minutes precious, precious sleep

9. You won’t be stuck in the throng of people ambling down Lawson Ave at glacial pace at 4.30pm. Every. Damned. Day.

Because, you know, a narrow path on a residential street is perfect for 14,000 people going the same way.
