• Response to Atheist Sign:

What is is. What's not, is not. The consciousness of this is the spark, the “God” if you will, in all reality. Therefore, any status obtained by believing or not believing (and their consequences) has nothing to do with God or reality.

  • Like it or not, the institution of marriage has been established and maintained by nearly all religions in the world. And like it or not, homosexuality happens to deeply offend most (but thank God not all) religions in the world. Given this situation, why would homosexual couples want to expose each other to such hostility? Why would two people who are committed in love want to purposefully cast themselves into a pit of vipers? It seems to me that there must be gentler ways to make a point.
Religious people aren't stupid. I think they realize their glaring hypocrisy. But it's just too difficult and frightening dismantling ones heart, sorting out the truth and reassembling it. Significant changes need to happen by evolution rather than revolution. I think it was Jesus who said that we should treat others like we would want to be treated. As bitter as it might feel, accept those who would reject you; and you will teach the most valuable lesson in life. Religious people will especially recognize this lesson.
