Hello! My name is Michaela, and this past year I went through a radical life change that forever altered the way my story would go. On June 5th 2014, I underwent a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy, a procedure that removed 85% of my stomach permanently. The year it took to get to that point was filled with many twists and turns. I decided to keep this a secret, so while I went through everything, I wrote. I titled it Journey of Onederland because one of my goals is to get back to the 100s on the scale. I also did a play on words with tying in an Alice in Wonderland theme. A lot of weight loss stories can get repetitive, and I wanted to add a little bit of enchantment to mine.
