I don’t know why, but the image of the man and woman lying in bed brings up a lot of feelings for me. The idea of her lullaby as noise to his life, while he looks at her adoringly - it really catches the true humanity in this trite listing. He is absorbed in a world of algorithms and statistics and group predictions, the true flow of which is entirely out of his control. She’s the only stable thing in this life. She ends up having to be ‘mommy’ now for someone that hasn’t done much emotional growth outside of the steakhouses and Nobu. And what of her desires, does she wait for the extreme wealth to flow in to pursue her own ideas, or start spending now, in case the bubble bursts again? Hoping he’s not too big to fail.
