Neat! They have weirdly human-like faces. I think it’s weird to say they are “newly discovered” when they’ve clearly been known to the local population for a long time. Maybe “newly identified” would be a better way to put it.

I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think the local population realized they were a separate species from their similar brethren – which makes the identification of them as a new species a discovery.
