My brother and sister told me that if I got in the pool when the cover was on it that a monster would come out of the filter and suck me under. They also told me not to swim too close to the filter because that same monster would pull me in.
When I was older my parents would tell to cover the pool alone I should just get in and pull the cover. Sadly, I was still-as a teenage- afraid of being sucked in!
