Relief may be on the way for terminally ill cancer patients struggling with anxiety. A new study claims that patients who took a small dose of psilocybin — the active ingredient in “magic mushrooms”— felt less anxious 1-3 months after consuming the hallucinogen. After years of lectures from teachers and parents, who would have thought that this psychedelic drug would be now used medically as a mood enhancer. Never say never.
If it works, why not? They gave my grandma medicinal marijuana so she would eat while she had her chemo and radiation treatments. It worked.
Yeah, that's awesome. Until you're high as shit on mushrooms and realize you're terminally ill and will die soon and then think about all the horrible things you've done in your life and wonder “MAYBE HELL IS REAL” and become convinced you're going to hell so you break into a church and when the cops come all you see are a bunch of grim reapers ready to drag you down to Satan's kingdom so, naturally, you fight them because you don't want to go to hell. So then you end up not only terminally ill, but also in prison.
I think anyone who was lucky enough to try the delicate fungi knew this already.
Yayyyyy, go mushrooms!
“After years of lectures from teachers and parents, who would have thought that this psychedelic drug would be now used medically as a mood enhancer. Never say never. ” That statement is ridiculously ignorant. Anyone educated on the subject will tell you that psilocybin has repeatedly proven to be safe and has wide-ranging health benefits. People have been speaking to the benefits of mushrooms for literally thousands of years.
They also use ecstasy to help with PTS disorder
Who would have thought? Most “bad” or illegal drugs also have medical use or at least possible medical use. Some are just not usually used because there are safer or more effective alternatives. Some just haven't been researched well enough.
House found a medical use for these things years ago.
