“Dodson earned half the profits that the song made on iTunes” Awesome. But why exactly? To me that sounds like the Gregory Brothers actually decided to be magnanimous and hook him up. Is he being credited with writing the lyrics for the song? That would nice and justified ,but as the legal system is often neither nice nor just so I found it surprising.  Generally speaking if you answer questions for a tv interview your spoken words are not assumed to be lyrics that entitle you to songs derived from them.
Are they?
Any lawyers wanna weigh in on this?
I guess I'm just puzzled because I thought the whole sampling/ Girl Talk case had yet to be decided. You know the one that's supposedly going to kill hip hop by stopping people from sampling.

I live near that area and know it is bad. I felt badly he got made fun of for being made fun of for being upset about what happened to his sister, But I am happy that things are looking up for them.

I would have liked to see him invest it in his community and become a source of change for all instead of just himself.
