The United States is… “for crabs”?

I think boycotts of entire countries for something the government does is problematic, especially if government isn’t exactly known for human rights and democracy. “Well, if they cared about their people so much, they’d bow to international pressure!” They don’t — that’s the whole freaking point why the Russian government’s prosecuting their entire LGBT population. Also, I don’t think it’s a “you either support a Olympics boycott or you’re a rabid homophobe” mentality. There are LGBT athletes who have trained their whole lives for this. Also, there are LGBT people and allies in Russia. If athletes want to go, they should go and be applauded for their achievements. If gay athletes want to boycott, that is a personal and understandable decision. I just think it’s problematic for someone who doesn’t identify as LGBT (like Gaga) to try to tell other people, including people who ARE gay, not to go. For some athletes, the Olympics is THE pinnacle of their life. It would be awful to make athletes choose between their sexual orientation and their career. I think there’s another way to make the Russian government see that the LGBT community should not be persecuted.
It’s sad that this guy (and his followers) are willing to let the girl of their “affections” suffer from an eating disorder so that they can better bang and control her, rather than actually helping her out. I think this pretty much shows what a woman is worth is in their minds.
They’re 100?! That’s incredible. They both look very kind.
Being at the “apex” as you put it doesn’t mean we should do everything we “can” do. Yes, arguably we are at the top of the food chain. We humans invented the gun. Doesn’t mean we SHOULD go around shooting everything that moves in order to assert dominance. Humans didn’t move to the head of the food chain by throwing their weight around. Instead of killing every cow and wild wolf that they came across, they decided to herd livestock and domesticate dogs.
Hunting for food, for necessity, I think is completely justified. Many, many animals and people do it. But hunting to gloat is just sad. I mean, at the end of the day, you’re TAKING LIFE. That’s not some joyous event. The people who hunt out of necessity know the importance of the life they’re taking, and they respect it. This woman respects nothing but her own ego. No animal should die just so you can have a picture to brag about on Facebook.
“My bridesmaids will be disappointed by the only time I need to ping pong.”
For swimming, get prescription goggles. :)
My parents are almost 60 and they don’t wear anything, not even wedding rings. When they got married in the 80s it wasn’t a tradition to exchange rings. They immigrated to America and to this day don’t wear rings.
Does everyone who think this is trashy think that diamond engagement rings in EVERY country are trashy, or just diamond rings in China?
Even though Vera Bradley makes me want to vomit with her designs, the boy has the right to wear whatever the hell bag he wants to, provided that it’s not obscene or offensive and (it pains me to say this) those godawful paisley designs are neither obscene nor offensive. No rules say he can’t wear it in the class, so he should be able to wear it. Also, kudos to the company, and for those stores, for standing up for him.
Several of my friends were planning to fly out today and got caught in this sick, sad mess at LAX. Constitutionality of guns aside, this is the America we’re living in right now, where you can’t freaking go anywhere without the possibility of bullets whizzing by, from people either thinking they want to kill you, or people thinking they’re going to protect you.
Not religious, and I really like this Pope. Obviously I don’t agree with him on various things, but I like how he preaches kindness and acceptance and puts that message at the forefront. Also, he seems to live by what he preaches. He seems like someone who can talk to others despite their differences to make the world a better place. Respect from me.
Erin Cox did ABSOLUTELY the right thing and acted in the responsible manner that many 21+ adults still don’t do. The school is only throwing her under the bus because it needs to cover its own ass. Hope she wears her suspension as a badge of pride.
“Mysteries of #Gravity: Astronaut Clooney informs medical doctor Bullock what happens medically during oxygen depravation.” <— This is actually a pretty legit story note.
#5 looks like cadaver nails.
There are actually scenarios. Let’s say you are self-employed and you bring a business client to DD for a business meal. If it’s a business expense, you can save the receipt and have the meal be an itemized deduction on your taxes. If you don’t have it, you’re screwed during an audit. With that said, this lady is a grade A biatch.
What classy, bright young ladies. I wish this family all the best.
The space one is an astounding work of art. So lovely.
