buddersmoosh 2 months agothe term hispanics comes from “hispaniola” which is today the Dominican republic. Spanish is entirely different from hispanic, hispanic is Puerto Rican/ Dominican / Cuban

mekki 2 months agoBut the name Hispanic comes from the Roman name for Spain, Hispania. To say that people from Spain no longer have a right to their own given name that they have had for two thousand years, is insulting.
