Sisters Give Birth To Baby Girls 15 Minutes Apart

Two of a kind.

Sisters Yely Gonzalez, 23, and Estafany Gonzalez, 22, gave birth to their daughters about 15 minutes apart at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on Jan. 6.

Estafany wasn't due for several days, but she went into the hospital with her older sister for moral support after Yely began having contractions. As Yely was being examined, Estafany also started having contractions and went into labor.

Their mother was kept busy running back and forth between the two sisters as her granddaughters came into the world, they told ABC News through a translator. The family is from the Dominican Republic.

Estefany gave birth to Marjorie at 8:12 a.m. Yely followed with her baby Arlette at 8:29 a.m., the hospital said.

Both sisters, who each already have a toddler at home, have been best friends their whole lives, they told ABC News. The two still only live minutes from each other.

They said the simultaneous births were not planned, but they considered it a blessing. The sisters said they hope their daughters grow up to be close, like sisters.
