I grew up in Little Italy on the lower East side of Manhattan. I’m so damn old that the rent at the time (late 40’s - early 50’s) was $17 a month - heat included. Large kitchen, living room and one small bedroom, tub in the kitchen, toilet in the hall. Hung out on the fire escape and loved every minute of it. LOL

For Easter, there’s nothing like Italian ham pie. Ham, ricotta, eggs, spinach, salami and pepperoni layered in a double crust pie. So delicious!

Don’t know if this refers to sweet pies only, but the very best pie I - and numerous others - have ever had is my own Italian ham pie at Easter time. Containing ricotta, ham, pepperoni, salami, spinach and eggs layered and mixed then put into a sweet, buttery crust it is really delicious.

Malt-o-Meal has some good cereal knock-offs. The frosted flakes are pretty darn good and so much cheaper than Kelloggs. Just sayin’.
If you bake cookies, a dollar store shower curtain is great for when it’s time to frost or enrobe the cookies in icing. It catches all the drips and you can just throw it away after you’ve finished. Made about 25 dozen for Christmas and there was no mess after frosting.

He has a lot of fun, is richer than a king, is a wonderful husband and father and is the host of several very popular Food Network shows. Somehow I don’t think he gives a flying fennel seed if you think he’s ‘unsettling’. I like him…what’s not to like?
