Rollerball a year agoThere is no choice. I can’t control the fact that I am straight. Nor can I control the fact that I turn gay in the presence of Nathan Fillion.

oOo a year agoHe’s right you know. It’s not genetic. The real cause is a gas called fabulon that can collect in low-lying areas. If your home has too much, your kids are comin’ out gay, like it or not. I’m currently driving through the flyover states in a traveling medicine show. I sell a kit you can use to test your home for fabulon. I’ll be stopping by your church revival soon.

Austin Found a year agoFalse, Tim. Pheromone studies and identical twin studies have both shown it is an intrinsic human characteristic, an allele with incomplete penetrance, just like type-1 diabetes, left-handedness, Huntington’s disease, and many other phenotypes. If all of those phenotypes are accepted to be genetically based, then why should we exclude homosexuality? In the 1950s, some teachers would tie children’s left hands behind their backs if they tried to write with the left. They said that left-handedness was a sign of “the devil” and that student should “choose” to use their right hand instead. But it’s not a choice, it was dysfunctional, and that way of thinking disappeared. http://www.thetech.org/genetics/ask.php?id=155 http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2005/05/0510_050510_gayscent.html

nanonanonano a year agoOh so now they believe in science… These people are such hypocritical, opportunistic, Cons. I wonder when they made their choice to be douche bags, or if they were just born that way.

RingosTar a year agoHe’s right, of course. There isn’t a scientific consensus, and even if it does turn out that there’s a biological component, it doesn’t mean that everyone with it is automatically homosexual. People have tendencies for all sorts of behaviors or abilities. Just because someone has perfect pitch doesn’t mean they’ll be a musician, and just because they have alcoholics in the family, doesn’t mean they’ll be one. That’s because there’s always a social component, with pretty much any realm of human behavior. That said, his legislative position unjustly harms families and violates the separation of church and state. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biology_and_sexual_orientation
