In the last few seasons, the Emmys have developed a party circuit so consistent -- half micro-economy surrounding the show, half social hierarchy in action -- that they've inspired some hilarious archetypes.

1. The Tweeting Vampire

Found at: Audi's Emmy kickoff, Cecconi's West Hollywood.

Distinguishing characteristics: Hair of the moment. Wears bohemian bracelets with a blazer. Glued to iPhone tweeting his "bro" Alan Ball that he's doing crunches for a forthcoming "True Blood" casting.

Walked among: Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell, Melissa McCarthy, Sarah Paulson and Rumer Willis.

2. The Apex Nerd

Found at: Entertainment Weekly and L'Oreal Paris pre-Emmy celebration, Fig & Olive.

Distinguishing characteristics: Blogger. Dolce & Gabbana eyewear with a $12 haircut. Follows Kevin Feige and Martha Plimpton on Twitter. Speaks ad nauseam about the brilliance of Nathan Fillion. Trolls Tumblr but subscribes to GQ's iPad app.

Will attempt to squeeze in photo booth with: Mindy Kaling, Scott Caan, Andrew Rannells, Gabriel Mann, Joe Manganiello, Julia Louis-Dreyfus -- to name a few.

3. The Strong Female Lead

Found at: Variety and Women in Film pre-party, Scarpetta, Beverly Hills.

Distinguishing characteristics: Feature film pedigree with a heavily nominated cable series. Blowout, borrowed diamonds and her lifelong girlfriends in tow to keep her grounded.

Will air kiss: host committee Alec Baldwin, Bryan Cranston, Max Greenfield, Patricia Heaton, Christina Hendricks, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Joel McHale and Amy Poehler.
