I actually like it. If Tiger were a rock star, married or not, nobody would think his behavior was out of the ordinary. And that's basically what he is. A rock star of the sports world. He doesn't deserve half of the public scorn he's received. At least Nike addressed what's been going on. Would you have preferred a straight jump into the same old, happy-go-lucky commercials with smiles and bouncing golf balls? Probably not.

The idea is that you can rehabilitate anyone's image. That's a pipe dream, based on the belief that society at large is amoral. The truth is that society at large, while very forgiving, does have a common sense of decency. And while there are always people who will find a way to apologize for or excuse any behavior imaginable, Tiger Woods definitely stepped over society's line. At a certain point, people will believe that he's been punished enough, and the constant rehashing of his sins will cease. But those same people will never forget. Like so many others, when Tiger Woods dies, his staggering capacity for marital infidelity and his even more staggering capacity to lose his rational mind to narcissism will be near the top of things that people remember about him. Billions spent on PR won't change that.

This is a totally offensive ad. Maybe Nike thinks the public is as stupid as they are. The worst thing is that how is anyone supposed to know the voiceover is from Tiger's dad unless somebody tells you? (Overlooking the fact that the guy is dead). Shameful attempt. I'm sure it will go viral, but it will be damaging to Nike's image, not the other way around. Great proof that there is actually 'bad publicity'.  Good job Nike! What's next? Jesse James becoming Axe's new spokesman?
