How To Live With Ebooks

I think Mr. Garner is a little too conservative about ebooks in some ways — " I still prefer to consume sentences the old-fashioned and nongreen way, on the pulped carcasses of trees that have had their throats slit" — but the fundamental conceit of this piece, that different kinds of reading are each particularly suited to different kinds of media, iPhone vs. E-Ink vs. iPad vs. printed book, is fundamentally true. You wouldn't bake a cake in a microwave, would you? (Or maybe you would. Ew.)
