A Guide To Your First Hanson Concert

    Yes They Still Tour.

For those who are unaware that Hanson is still touring and lost tack after their mega hit album "Middle of Nowhere," you're in luck, they still tour. If you've never been to a concert and have decided to go—what you're about to read is your guide to everything you need to know about your first Hanson show.

Try to get there early. HOURS early because Isaac (Ike), Taylor (Tay) and Zac go on a mile walk with their fans and it's for charity. It only costs $1 to walk but for those wanting to pay more, they are more than welcome to. Those who walk actually get to speak with them and maybe even touch their hands. So get there or miss out.

It's a little shocking to see the amount of people who show up for their shows. Not that they aren't super talented and precious; you're just not the only one who gets made fun of for still singing the hell out of their songs in your late 20's. A lot of people do.

Once inside the venue, girls will already be congregated around the front few rows and they aren't moving. Somehow try to make your way up to the keyboard side so your former fiancé (you were 12, he didn't know you, it wasn't meant to be) is merely feet away.

Their opener Paul McDonald (aka the husband of Nikki Reed of the Twilight franchise) is very friendly and has a similar sound to Jason Mraz. Someone will tell him his fly is undone and he'll zip it up and thank that person at the beginning of each song throughout the duration of his performance.

Once McDonald leaves, standing in anticipation can be rough. The three guys whose Bop and Tiger Beat posters were plastered all over your room back in the late 90's are about to take the stage. HOLD IT TOGETHER!

45 minutes after the opener leaves, the lights go out and then flash bright. Tay, Ike and Zac run out on stage and kick off their show with a song from their new album, "Anthem" and it's a complete shock because it's finally happening.

A few songs into their show, two Amazon blondes squeeze their way in front and invade not only your personal bubble but interrupt Zac mid song. They scream profane things at Zac while he tries to play Lulla Belle which is probably why he got mad and called someone a "drunk bitch" in Virginia. So no matter how exciting the concert is, it's important to let him finish his beautiful song without interruption.

Move away from the blonde girls so the Hanson experience is not ruined. Hanson continues on with the show and plays "Give a Little" from their album "Shout it Out" and get two members from the audience to dance with them on stage. Chances are neither of the two people will be you, but it never hurts to raise your hand when he asks. The girl and boy he picks don't know each other. And the band intentionally does this. Whoever the girl is gets the gift of Tay's hand on her waist while he shows a guy how to dance with her. All the while, he keeps saying, "This is girlfriend/boyfriend approved" because he is well aware that the male came with a girlfriend, who wasn't on stage and vice versa. After he teaches the faux couple how to swing dance, he thanks them and they leave the stage.

Yes, the band plays MMMBop live and unlike other child stars they aren't ashamed of their roots and it's so much better live. The brothers put their mature spin on it, where it sounds more acapella and acoustic. It may vary from show to show, but they do not disappoint because they don't shy away from the old stuff. They know everyone wants to hear that song and they oblige.

The brothers are gifted. Of course the love for Hanson has changed, but it has never died. The three brothers are married with children but going to the concert makes you feel like you're a part of their lives like they are distant relatives who you also grew up with. Ike, Tay and Zac have undeniable soul and swagger not to mention that they are extremely gifted. Zac and Taylor can both play drums and the keyboards. And the 3 of them can all sing. It may not have been apparent to many young girls in the 90's because it was usually Tay singing lead but Ike and Zac can carry a tune and they both get stage time solo to show off their skills. The range in Zac's voice is particularly surprising when he sings Lullabelle. So, girls, don't interrupt him. He doesn't like that. In the song, he sounds particularly heartbreaking and beautiful. And by heart breaking, I mean he's married and it's pretty serious because he has children. Just kidding, the song is beautiful.

Hanson will remind you that they are married and thank their wives at the show. But remember, "You have so many relationships in this life

Only one or two will last

You go through all the pain and strife

Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast" and it is about the music after all.

Now if you haven't cried by now, you will. But remember, it is okay to cry if this is your first show especially if you were with them since the beginning. The wave of nostalgia and the memories of childhood mid concert are overwhelming. This will probably happen when they play "With You in Your Dreams" a song off of Middle of Nowhere that also sounds better live. So be prepared.

    You will cry.

After Hanson thanks the audience, they come back for an encore and the song is off their older album. Tay asks the crowd to continue to party and jumps around while belting out the classic tune. And the audience is still hyped up.

After the show ends, your Facebook, Instagram and twitter friends will poke fun at the pictures from the show you share. But it's cool, they were not there. So they don't know.

All in all Hanson is very talented and they don't disappoint. They never stop smiling throughout their performance and seem genuinely thankful and glad to be performing for you. It's refreshing to know that the child stars stuck to their roots and never sold out to shock us in an explicit way. It's probably why they continue to have a loyal fan base.

Now that you know the drill, enjoy the show. I'm super envious of the fun you're going to have. Mmmbop, ba duba dop

Ba du bop, Ba du dop

Ba du bop, Ba du dop

    Ba du

    For life!
