I'm getting seriously sick of this site - I'm very liberal myself, and I feel that the response of many people here makes Liberals look like a petty, elitist, blinkered bunch of clowns, much as the GoP and their supporters would have people believe.
Today, someone said that this was a site for progressives, and that conservative commentors should find someplace else to respond. WTF, people? This is surely a site for comment, and there is an obvious liberal bias, but are we saying that it should be no-go for conservatives? Ditto the making fun of every. little. thing. that republican candidates do. It's not really helping, and it's making Liberals look exactly how I described above. Lampoon their asinine policies and beliefs, go ahead, but don't try to portray them as just a bunch of hapless clowns. That's how HITLER was portrayed pre-government. Additionally, it's making this place look like some sort of political closed shop - don't you want people to engage with criticisms, rather than be shoved out the door? And the Santorum thing? Was a funny prank, but you know what? A Santorum isn't ACTUALLY that frothy mixture, that's just a way to fuck with the guy. It's become a cyclical thing, and it's starting to look pretty stupid.
