Bear just wanted the trash. In the woods in Quebec (I'm assuming) and in the rest of Canada black bears are big pest - they steal trash like nobody's business. They're scary, but it's only the ones with cubs that are a threat. However, the cat does get mad props for not getting killed by the bear. So, I'll give the cat the point.
