This Mother Is Asking Social Media To Help Find Her Missing Teen Son

Police began searching for Owen Clune when he didn't show up for school in Melbourne on Tuesday morning.

Journalist Bronwen Clune has called on Twitter users to spread the word to help find her missing 14 year old son, Owen.

Victorian police launched a search for Owen Clune yesterday when he left his home at Malvern and didn't turn up at to school.

"Around 12.45pm Owen's step mother arrived home and his school bag and uniform were still in the house," said police in a statement.

"(Owen) is savvy with public transport and may have travelled from Malvern using those methods. Police have concerns for Owen's welfare as his disappearance is considered out of character."

As the search commenced Bronwen used Twitter to send photos of Owen and asked people to retweet a message. Hundreds of people have passed it on in the last 24 hours.

My son Owen (14) is missing in MELB. He's 6ft, lean, dark blonde & blue eyes. Please RT. Call police on 03 88235600

"This guy is tops and needs to get home safe," Bronwen tweeted last night. She also posted pictures of Owen and his friends.

Some more photos of Owen, which might help identify him. Missing in Melbourne (on left with my phone). Tall, lanky

Throughout the night she has kept people updated and called for people to contact Victorian police on his whereabouts.

He has no phone/money & has not contacted any of his friends. Relying on someone spotting him ... #melbourne http://t.co/bGJUTUUTSi

Police have urged the public to call 000 immediately if they can provide any information about Owen's location or safety.
