McDonald's Just Named A Burger After Australia's Oldest Politician Like It Was Nothing

    Get your Fill-ip Ruddock.

    The "father of the house", Government backbencher Philip Ruddock visited a McDonald's with colleague Eric Abetz on Thursday... these smiles show he was oblivious about what was about to happen.

    I went to @maccas with @SenatorAbetz ! #auspol

    Under questioning about the purpose of the visit, the 72-year-old said he was there to see a new training program at the Sydney Maccas.

    @BuzzFeedOzPol @maccas have a fantastic program up the road from my office training their management staff

    The next question followed the first, so Mr Ruddock, Member for Berowra, what did you have?

    @lanesainty well we don’t know that. Mr @philipruddockmp what did you have??

    ~fancy~

    @BuzzFeedOzPol one of their new create your taste burgers. had beef, beetroot, tomato, cheese and lettuce

    Even when a punter threw down some sass about the order...

    .@philipruddockmp @BuzzFeedOzPol You know that's an Aussie Burger at Burger King/Hungry Jacks, right? You could've just crossed the street.

    ... WELL EXCUSE ME HE'S THE FATHER OF THIS HOUSE.

    @reubenacciano @BuzzFeedOzPol yes but this one is mine

    Because this is 2015 (and brands are ready to go at any opportunity) McDonald's just went straight ahead and named the burger after him.

    @philipruddockmp @BuzzFeedOzPol Hope you enjoyed it! We hereby commemorate this occasion with the #PRuddRound burger!

    It was carried by the voices.

    @BuzzFeedOzPol it's the #PRuddRound burger!

    And there we have it. The newest addition to the government's delicious budget menu "#PRuddRound."

    Bloody hell that happened fast.
