Here's Proof #Auspol Is Mostly Just Randoms Making Atrocious Memes

    @WoefulAuspol is tl;dr #auspol

The Twitter account @WoefulAuspol is a public service that aggregates the very worst Australian political memes on social media.

It trawls the web and finds the most idiotic attempts at viral content.

#ImStickingWithTony because he never backs away from an often hostile media

And also highlights why some politicians are just ignoring the internet.

This woeful effort from Dave Donovan's alter ego, Kiera Gorden

No wonder Prime Minister Tony Abbott derisively called social media, "electronic graffiti".

With the power of radio station memes and #auspol combined. I give you...

BuzzFeed News spoke to the person behind @WoefulAuspol, "Alan Bamff" who said he stumbled upon them on Twitter and Facebook and felt compelled to bring them together.

Tom in Oz. A close first ahead of Vanbadmeme

He said that while people do make their own woeful memes, there are some "main players" who really act like meme factories churning them out on a daily basis.

Can anyone do a meme with Tom in Oz at the bottom of a barrel?

"There's a few main players on either side and their followers tend to replicate," he said.

And in reality the memes sometimes just need a gentle retweet-push from those activists with a few thousand followers.

Its pretty much a scientific fact. So beat it to death. #auspol #wamemes

While some have some hard work behind them...

    ... others are plainly ridiculous.

Electronic equivalent of a Socialist Alliance member yelling through a distorted PA on Bourke St.

The meme themes target really low hanging fruit. Malcolm Turnbull = narcissist.

Mr Nasty Milo has consulted a body language AND graphic design expert

And when you can combine themes the memes spreeeeaaaad.

There's a common misconception that Twitter is "left wing". As @WoefulAuspol shows some of the worst stuff is from Abbott supporters. (Who have this strange obsession with Daffy Duck).

Daffy duck is a telltale sign of a boomer made meme

    The anti-Labor content is prosperous.

It doesn't matter what side of politics, #auspol is a dark, terrible and nonsensical place.

Nasty Mr Milo forgetting that you cant vote for Cosby http://t.co/kq6kbVw8Jh #auspol #wamemes

Larger groups like the Socialist Alliance are trying to produce their own viral content.

Some have quite a bit of work behind it.

    Others don't.

And most make no coherent sense. Looking too hard at them, is not advised.

Put the mouse down and step away from MS paint.

And in reality don't think about it too much. Asked his favourite woeful meme, @AlanBamff put forward this one as a classic of the genre. Yep. Welcome to #auspol.
