I always find it so funny when people make this big fuss about LARP being ‘silly’. What’s so bad about people using their imagination to come up with a fantastic scenario that they can be a part of with other like-minded, dramatic, creative individuals? It strikes me more as being like a drama group with a focus on improvisation. I wish I could have found a LARP group around where I live, but alas, I’ll have to be content with my group of close friends and fellow roleplaying gamers. If anything, it feels like a natural evolution of loving to ‘play pretend’ when I was a child. Yeah, it may be kind of silly from an outsider’s point of view, but no funnier than a bunch of ‘roided out, overpaid jocks smacking each other on the butt and trying to run/ throw/ bounce a ball to the opposite side of an area.
