Please invest in a britta pitcher or some other type of filter system - the water should be chilled when infusing the CO2 anyway, so we use the water from our fridge (it has a handy measuring system - I use .85 L when using the 1 litre bottle), or the filtered water pitcher that I normally use for brewing coffee. Yes, it costs a few pennies more a year, but the water tastes soooo much better. Also - my husband reluctantly bought me the SodaStream last Christmas and we have used it constantly. He uses it more than I do at this point, and it was like pulling teeth to get it into the house. Well worth it, IMHO.
