kiskanak 7 months agoRihanna is kind of unique in her situation as a (previously, and possibly future) abused woman. She’s not your average victim; she is a public figure with a huge fanbase, many of whom are young girls who look up to her. As a former victim of domestic abuse myself, I would have to say, I sure as hell wouldn’t want those girls looking at me for inspiration during those dark times. Afterwards, maybe… But never in the midst of it. If you won’t think of yourself, Rihanna, think of your young fans.

Summer Anne Burton 7 months agoJesus, the number of “I’d beat her too for being so stupid” comments already on this post is so sad. I hope if any of you guys ever love someone who is abused, you don’t talk to them like that. That type of victim-blaming can actually help perpetuate the cycle of abuse by damaging someone’s self-worth.
