Colossal Social Media Fail By Friends Reunited

The site has come under fire after posting an insensitive tweet regarding the "beheading" attack in Woolwich.

Just after news broke of the violent attack in South-East London, in which one man is confirmed to have died, Friends Reunited posted the following message on Twitter.

They've since deleted the tweet and apologised.

We’re extremely sorry for our insensitive Woolwich tweet. This will not happen again and our thoughts are with those affected.

But not before attracting a string of complaints.

The bozos at @FriendsReunited have deleted their moronic tweet. Arguably worth their while being tasteless as we'd all forgotten they exist.

Incredible how people/brands keep making the same mistakes when a tragedy/major news story happens, @FriendsReunited just the latest.

Massive #prfail by Friends Reunited after their tweet re the horrific incident in Woolwich. Obviously total lack of thinking before tweeting

The @FriendsReunited Tweet about the events in Woolwich is what happens when bad 'marketers' are in charge of social media.
