Wrong. When Rick Perry talked about secession a few of years ago, he was shown to be an idiot who doesn’t know history. Texas has no right to secede. Period. End of discussion.

sakowitzk -learn your history, The Republic of Texas entered the Union as a Separate nation and thus required a Treaty. All other states (other than the original colonies) were territories. In that Treaty, Texas can secede,or if it chooses it can break into 5 separate states (thus giving those states 8 additional senators).
