We ARE NOT GOING to stop*
We ARE NOT GOING to stop*
Clearly an intelligent, unbiased account of what actually happened. Fascinating.
Of course had they not ssy up in their lot, there’d be no building at all. I’m sure they make 25 grand in 17 days in that town.
You have to understand this could easily lead to some high school guy saying he’s transgendered so he can get into the girl’s restroom. Then there are rape claims and voyeurism and all other manner of issues to contend with. If you have a penis you are a guy. Seems simple enough. We can’t very well turn the world upside down for a decimal of a percent of people who want to be something else. At some point majority has to rule. Try to be rational.
I think you have to take into account the fact that most people hang out with people of their own kind. It’s not necessarily a race thing but a culture thing. Unfortunately, most people get their perception of black people from the media. Rap videos, Ray Rice, even that tirade Richard Sherman went on last year. Whether it’s fair or not most people have a negative perception of blacks. It’s even an issue within the black community. I asked someone one why he spoke so poorly and his response was “this is how I talk, I’m black.” My response to him was no, you’re ignorant. I will say though that at least in my city of well over half a million people that most times the news breaks a story about a shooting or robbery or large disturbance the parties involved are often black. That feeds this perception that other people have. It is then on black people to not provide those negative stories. Whether it’s fair our not a black person represents their race. We know this. So it becomes necessary to show people a positive example and not feed the media any negative examples. Michael Brown was wrong. The media food a piss poor job of reporting any actual facts and just flamed the fires with ignorant uninformed biased opinions. Having said all that, the last three police officers killed in the line of duty in my city all within for years were each killed by a black male. Whether it’s fair or not, people see the actions of a few and judge the group. Much like people see the actions of a few officers and judge them all by the behavior of a few. MILLIONS of people come into contact with the police every day. Less than 1% are killed. That’s hardly an epidemic nor is it indicative of one.
The choke hold officer had no intent and his actions are a result of improper and inadequate training. The officer is not at fault, the department failed him and everyone else.
I’m confused. A: Racial profiling was addressed in 2003 by the Bush administration. B: There’s absolutely nothing to suggest that the Ferguson incident was based on race. In fact, Brown was stopped because he was a suspect in a robbery. NOT because he was black. This dude just needs to admit he was wrong and go away.
Pants up, don’t loot
People are odd.
might have been this
Pretty sure the most powerful images are those of all the buildings burning down. Auto zone apparently = racism?
my pup pups!
Why is it our responsibility to house everyone who comes from a crappy country? We need to focus on our own problems, not taking in everyone else. We’re becoming the dumping ground for anyone who isn’t happy with their country and it’s long been a burden on our own.
Hey. Does anyone know if a black woman did this?
I like to see we are finally making prisoners give back instead of being served three meals a day and watching cable tv. They ought to be doing something useful. Ive always thought we could use them to sort recycling nation wide then ship those reclaimed products back to China to be turned into consumer goods again. It’s better than shipping back empty contsiners. They work, less landfill waste and we have another export. They might as well do something while they’re doing nothing.
Ok. Stop saying it only takes one shot to stop someone. I know of a guy that got shot seven times. He asked if he had been shot in the crotch and when he was told he wasn’t, he exclaimed “I’m going to be fine.” He’s still alive. Even if you’re shot with a fatal wound to the chest you can still fight for around 30 seconds. If yyou think someone is trying to take your gun and kill you, you probably don’t go easy on them. You’re fighting for your own life. Don’t forget this guy had just robbed a gas station. Sure when Officer Wilson stopped him he didn’t know that but what do you think Brown’s state of mind was. He had just robbed a gas station and now a cop is stopping him. He probably figured he was going to prison so he chose to fight his way out. A blind man could see it in a minute. It has nothing to do with race, it’s one person making a series of poor decisions and having to die by the consequences of those choices. I’m willing to bet this is just a little bit of the whole story, more will come out as the hearing progresses.
Wait wait wait… He’s an UNARMED JUVENILE! He’s incapable of killing anyone. The police and prosecutors must have missed something.
Police officers have full power whether on or off duty and are still subject to the same rules when they take action whether in uniform or not. Even if an off duty officer in plain clothes walks up on a robbery/theft/battery whatever they can still make an arrest.
Obviously the SWAT officers hurt the baby on purpose. Orrrrrrr not. Here’s an idea, how about being upset with the crappy parents for bringing their children up in a drug house? Maybe THEY are the ones responsible. Meanwhile, if you have a problem with how the police operate, sign up yourself and do it your own way. Otherwise stfu and say “thank you” instead.
I have a friend who is short. The team name “New York GIANTS” Offends him. It’s very sad. Yet we’re still waiting on the president to take action. Now we know how the dreamers feel.
I saw a funeral program where the picture of the deceased was a selfie he had taken before he died. Stay classy ‘Merica
An employer has no business punishing an employee for an off the clock incident. That’s what criminal courts are for.
Why boycott at all? In what other career does someone lose their job or anything else for domestic violence? This isn’t even a conviction! What place does an employer have punishing someone for something that happens off the clock? Should a target cashier be fired for a d.u.i on his weekend? Or an accountant fired for a bar fight on vacation? The guy should be held accountable in a criminal court, not to his employer.
That’s fine that those are the facts but that doesn’t mean Officer Wilson did anything wrong
It does matter if he has a criminal history because that speaks to his mindset when he was stopped. The average person won’t become violent when stopped by the police. Someone who just robbed a gas station and already has a criminal history however is more likely to be combative. People want transparency until their hero starts to look like the villain.
Get over the fact that he was “unarmed” he’s still capable of committing serious bodily injury… http://www.odmp.org/officer/21942-correctional-officer-amanda-baker
He’s a cool guy. This is a really sad loss.
So I guess it’s hearsay that brown was shot. All we’ve seen ate pictures of him on the ground. Maybe he tripped.
What is there to suggest this has anything to do with white supremacy? Or that Officer Wilson did anything wrong?
