Omg, it’s West!!
Omg, it’s West!!
I got “Functional Introvert” “You’re definitely an introvert, but you know how to deal with being out of your element with grace. Sure, you don’t enjoy small talk or parties, but you’re willing to put up with those things to get through life without much fuss. After all, you hate being the center of attention.”
I got X-Men. “You feel like an outcast and desperately want to be part of a supportive community. You don’t always get along with your friends, but you’d still do anything to help them.”
I got Tyrion Lannister. “You’re extremely intelligent and have a knack for getting out of sticky situations. You’re sometimes a bit too snarky for your own good and sometimes make bad decisions when you feel insecure.”
I got Purple. “Wielders of purple-bladed lightsabers are more morally ambiguous than their fellow Jedi. Typically, purple-bladed saber wielders favor light-sided Force powers, but do not limit themselves to them, and can train in abilities that are sometimes looked down upon within Jedi orders. Wielders of purple-bladed lightsabers use their powers for good, but can be calculating and distrustful.” Funnily enough, I took a different lightsaber color quiz years and years ago, and I got this same result.
I got Magneto. “You’re a person with very ambiguous morality: You fight for an extremely noble cause, but are willing to do horrible things in the name of what is right. To some you’re a hero, and to others, you’re a monster.”
I got 86 out of 300. “You’ve got the makings of a great geek. Maybe you’re still testing the waters a bit, but you definitely share a lot of interests with nerds. Stop denying your true nature.” This means nothing to me, because this quiz is crap. It’s asking only high-level questions about multiple different areas of geekdom. So what if I don’t play video games? That’s not where I live. Where was the question asking if I’ve ever successfully named more than one movie I’ve never seen based on someone listing two actors from the movie? Where was the question asking if I get either all hardback or all paperback of a series so my bookshelf is consistent? It’s depth, not breadth, that defines your geek level. You know what else was awful? The questions about feeling superior or judging. Suddenly to be a geek you have to be mean and elitist? I DON’T THINK SO.
I got Chaotic Good. “Everything you do is for the greater good, but you feel like needless bureaucracy often gets in the way. You’re trying to make the world a better place, but you really need to do it your own way. Notable peers: Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead, Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec, Captain Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly, Hagrid from Harry Potter, and Jimmy McNulty from The Wire.” I assumed Neutral Good or Lawful Neutral. Chaotic Good? I’m okay with that, too.
I got Egon Spengler. “You’re a classic introverted intellectual. You let very few people into your close circle, but once you do, you’re a fiercely protective friend. You immerse yourself in your work and prefer to focus most of your energy on your professional life, but you know how to let loose when the occasion calls for it.”
I got Hobbes. “You’re a pretty cool cat. Maybe literally. You might also be a stuffed animal. You’re smart and calculating. You always know what you’re doing, and you work pretty hard to help others recognize the consequences of their actions. You might not daydream as much as others, but you’re still pretty content with your lot in life.” Love it! ^_^
I got Éowyn and Faramir from “The Lord of the Rings”. “With your busy schedules, it may have taken a while for you to get together, but once you did, it was like magic and you’ve been happy ever since. You both are insanely hardworking people, but you also know how to unwind and have fun!” Totally good with this! ^_^
I got Belle! Yes! “You’re as smart as you are heroic — and you’re very, very smart. You always use your wits and bravery for good, and you see the best in people, no matter what. Mostly, you prefer the company of books to people, but you also have an adventurous streak and a tenacity that balances your natural introversion. You believe in love, but you also believe in equality, and you refuse to settle for an ordinary life. You trust your instincts and you will usually let your heart guide you, even when it leads you down the more difficult path.”
There’s institutional racism, which is what you’re talking about, but there’s also social racism, of which every color is capable of being both victim and perpetrator. The fact is, you can’t let your prejudices color your interactions with people. That’s how we run into these problems. So maybe she’s been treated offensively by a whites in the past, and now that flavors how she treats them. Now you have a situation of her assigning qualities to people based on their skin color. “They’re white. Obviously they’re going to look down on me as a black woman.” That’s not so very different than “They’re black. Obviously they’re involved with gangs.” or “They’re hispanic. I wonder if they’re legal.” There are stereotypes and prejudices GALORE out there. You have to fight each and every one of them, not just the ones that affect you, or we’re never going to get it all stamped out. Let’s say we effectively stamp out black racism, but we still permit their offensive comments against whites. What’s going to happen is the whites are going to get bitter about the situation, and start making up insults based on color again. Inequality breeds contempt in a lot of people. Either you admonish ALL racist comments, or you don’t really believe in stamping them out. Simple as that.
I know I’m Daria without even taking this quiz, because I’ve said things she’s said almost verbatim before I knew she said them. That being said, I can’t finish this quiz, because I don’t know half the choices I’m being offered.
I got Andy. “People assume you are a goodie two-shoes, but really you have a hidden rebel side. You can’t help but be the center of love triangles, which isn’t something you seek but always seems to happen. Even though you can sometimes come off as snooty, you don’t have a mean bone in your body and treat everyone equally. You are quite the catch, that is if someone can catch you!”
I got Kitty Pryde! “You’re mature and responsible, and have been since you were very young. You’re very good at a lot of things, and are a very kind and supportive friend. You don’t have the best luck in your love life, but hey, who knows what might happen?”
I’m sorry these people had these experiences…
…but I’m reading through some of the comments and I’m a little concerned. For example:
“…But I just don’t want to ask white people for help. Specifically, like if he’s white and male… Because I can’t have him thinking that I’m this dumb black girl — that I don’t deserve to be here.”
How is THAT not racist as well? Just making the assumption that’s what the person will be thinking? “He’s white and I’m black. Obviously he’s going to look down on me.” (And who cares if that IS what he thinks? Get your help, get the As, be a badass female engineer.) I’m gonna say it again, and people won’t agree, but yeah, that’s racist. Racism is not just “white on minority” like too many people think. Racism is a two-way street. If we’re ever going to make progress in stamping it out, we have to be vigilant to the racism within ourselves and not just in others.
#10 and #11
Omg, those two had me dying! XD
I got Orb. “You’ll be carefree and easygoing, content to just float around wherever saying nothing. “Cool, man!” you’ll think to yourself as you waft over a lake. “Neat,” you’ll think as you’re captured by a human’s picture of another human standing in a dark forest at night. Most people who see you in print think you are dust, and for the most part you don’t let this get to you, but sometimes you can’t help it.”
I got Arnold. “Hey, football head. You’re chill, kind, and always willing to lend a hand to a friend in need. People are naturally drawn to you, and feel comfortable coming to you to talk about their problems. Most things in life come easily to you, so you’re not an overly-competitive person. You go with the flow. Also, your room is sick.”
