Women Are Posting Clown Contouring Selfies To Show The Power of Makeup

It may have started as a joke, but these clowns mean business.

YouTube user BellaDeLune recently posted a video tutorial on what she refers to as "clown contouring."

Bella explains in her video how clown contouring is a way for her to fight back against her haters: "I cannot tell you how many times I have been called a clown and many other names and been hated on because of the way that I use this art form, and I just did this to show you what a real payasa looks like." Payasa is the Spanish word for "clown."

She describes the technique as "extreme color correction, highlight, and contour."

But what started out as a joke has quickly turned into a trending technique. Women have been posting their own ~clown~ selfies all over Instagram with the hashtag #ClownContouring.
