Our Top 5 Canadian-Born Lifestyle Brands
#1. Dom Rebel Threads #2. Parasuco Jeans #3. Kanati Clothing Company #4. DSquared2 #5. Headrush
Lifestyle and Urbanwear brands are hot these days, plain and simple. With consumerism at an all-time high and celebrities as commercial as ever, the fashion game is changing, and Canadian-born brands are getting in on the action. To find some of these brands, a visit to your local mall won’t do. You may need to order online or find a high-end boutique because, let’s face it, you don’t want everybody with a twenty-five dollar gift card to the mall wearing the same thing as you.
But if your searching for a top Canadian lifestyle brand, this list should give you a better idea of some unique brands and styles that are out there.
#1. Dom Rebel Threads - is by far our favorite Canadian-Born lifestyle brand. It’s unique, handmade designs are provocative and edgy. A celebrity favorite, Dom Rebel is worn by many of the Hollywood elite including Jamie Foxx and Rob Kardashian.
Based in Montreal and founded by partners Don Nguyen and Justin Svatina, Dom Rebel has become, in our opinion, the best of the best in Canadian-Born fashion.
#2. Parasuco Jeans - is a Canadian icon and was born in St.Laurent, Quebec, by Italian immigrant Salvatore Parasuco. The Parasuco Jeans brand has had incredible success and has even earned its reputation as one of the 10 most influential denim players in history by Vogue Italia.
Parasuco brings an eye-catching and unique spin on fashion and has grown to be sold worldwide in top retail chains. Parasuco is synonymous with style and urban sensuality.
#3. Kanati Clothing Company - is the newest brand on this list. Founded in Toronto, Ontario, Kanati is a solid brand with original artwork and unique designs that are sure to be appealing to any urban wear fanatic. Some designs have an Aboriginal influence but with a signature take on it.
Kanati is another brand becoming a celebrity favorite and has been seen in music videos and publications with artists like Meek Mill, Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg. This is definitely one of our favorite up and coming brands that has expanded across the globe surprisingly fast. This is a brand we are keeping an eye on.
#4. DSquared2 - was born in Toronto, it has now moved to Italy but still has a strong Canadian influence in it’s designs and is the definition of a lifestyle brand. The intelligent mix of irreverent Canadian wit and refined Italian tailoring make DSquared2 one of our top brands.
Founded by brothers Dean and Dan Caten, the DSquared2 owners describe their brand as “Born in Canada, living in London, made in Italy”. DSquared2 can be found globally in high-end fashion boutiques
#5. Headrush - is a rapidly growing MMA lifestyle brand. The only reason we listed it as #5 is because of it’s easily available approach. Headrush can be purchased in almost any mall. That being said, the brand has a vast following and is endorsed by professional UFC fighters like Chuck Liddell and reality TV stars like Mike “The Situation” from Jersey Shore.
This is definitely our favorite MMA lifestyle brand. Headrush brings original designs and a different approach to the brand as oppose to the bland designs of a competitor company like Tapout.
