10 Delightfully Spooky Airbnb Rentals

    Ghosts, medieval towers, and more.

    1. Laura's Cottage in Savannah, GA, $180/night

In the heart of Savannah's historic district, this 1799 cottage was used as a location in Robert Redford's film The Conspirator, and is often included in local ghost tours. It's said to be haunted by (unsurprisingly) a woman named Laura. While few Airbnb reviews mention anything supernatural, you can comb through the TripAdvisor reviews to read some chilling tales.

    2. Historic Civil War farm house in Gettysburg, PA, $100/night

This location was apparently used as a hospital during the Battle of Gettysburg and here's what the host has to say: "I will be your only 'living' host, but there are many others who reside with me. They have lived at the farm for many many years, some for hundreds of years. Yes, the house is haunted, but they are all friendly!"

    3. Medieval tower apartment in Tuscany, $156/night

This remote 12th century tower still retains lots of original details like beamed ceilings and locks. Some guests have called their stay "spooky," which would make sense if centuries-old walls could talk. (But OK, it also looks incredibly romantic as well.)

    4. The Manor in St. Paul, Minnesota, $49/night

This place isn't haunted, but it sure looks it! It's also guarded by a doberman named Scorch, who, according to accounts, is really quite friendly.

    5. Historic adobe home in New Mexico ghost town, $58/night

Located near Truth or Consequences (an actual city in New Mexico), this residence is totally off the beaten path and located IN AN ACTUAL GHOST TOWN. It was apparently used years ago as a stagecoach stop, and you can visit the town's preserved old saloon.

    6. Jail house in Montana, $245/night

Located in a sleepy, old west Montana town, this little Airbnb is a replica of an 1800s jail house, complete with bars, bunks, and chains.

    7. Victorian hospital converted flat in London, $207/night

If you're a fan of Cinemax's The Knick, then this Airbnb should strike your fancy. The building formerly served as part of Bethnal Green Hospital. And hospitals can be creepy — if you want them to be.

    8. The Parks-Bowman Mansion in New Orleans, $100/night

Located in the Garden District of New Orleans, guests can elect to stay in the "Haunted Bedroom" — that's the actual name of the room — where the spirit of a shy young girl in a yellow dress from the 1890s roams. This testimony from one guest: "We both sat there listening all night to tiny footsteps dancing around the bed. It sounded like a young person who had a long skirt on. You could hear the rustling of her taffeta on the floor."

    9. Old tower in Umbria, Italy, $91

    10. Cranford Lodge haunted farm house in Camden, ME, $99/night

The hosts of this old farm house claim that their "ghosts like to host guests" and "our place is old and spooky, because we like the romance of old and spooky." To add to the kook factor, the place is stocked with Victorian antiques, toys, and dolls.
