Before writing anything, people ought to double check their facts. Calling a low carb diet a “horrific fad diet” is just criminal. In the US of A, there are 26 million people who HAVE to do a low carb diet, otherwise they’d shorten their life or just straight out die very quickly. Do you know who those people are? Diabetics.
Furthermore, there are another 80 million people in the US who are prediabetics and they too ought to really watch their carb intake, if they don’t want to join the ranks of the people dealing with this horrible disease.
But I guess this Amy Odell has never heard of diabetes. Keep up the good work Amy, if sounding stupid doesn’t concern you.

I think it’s clear that the author is referring to the diet as a method to lose weight, not the diet as a nutritional regulation for other health purposes. Also, a modern understanding of the pancreas, insulin, and carbs didn’t evolve until after 1885, 20 years after the diet referred to in the list. But I guess you don’t think about things in context. Keep up the good work, if sounding like a bitch doesn’t concern you.
