These Intimate Photos Of Couples Shrink-Wrapped Together Are Quite Something

A photographer is celebrating love by shrink-wrapping couples in the places most meaningful to them.

Photographer Hal has shrink-wrapped numerous couples in their favourite places for his Flesh Love series since 2014. The idea behind the project was inspired by the concept of fundamental love, and how two people can become one. "I intend to visualise this power of love by adhering and unifying couples," Hal told BuzzFeed. "The closer the distance between them, the stronger the power. The law of gravity also shows the pull is stronger when two objects become one."

Since the process is quite intricate, the couples choose a location that is meaningful to them and take part in a rehearsal to make sure everything is in place and technically correct. The couples then go into the bag and the process begins. "It is like assembling a puzzle," Hal says. "I suck the air out with a vacuum cleaner until there's none left. This gives me four seconds to take the shot. In this extremely limited time I can't release the shutter more than once."

Most of Hal's subjects are nervous about the process but after it is done they have said the adrenalin is like that of a rollercoaster. He takes many precautions when shooting since he wants the experience to be pleasant for his subjects, and always has oxygen spray, coolant gel, and a trained assistant on location in case of an emergency.

"Love is the most important thing [on] earth," Hal tells BuzzFeed. "To express the strength of love I decided to choose making couples stick together."
