Also, people who receive federal assistance can budget their income anyway they want. All people have to make choices as to what goods/services are important to them; being as internet is very useful for such things as searching for jobs, doing work for school (high school, college, institutions that are supposed to help people better their life situations), a poor person could very easily search for an internet plan that they could afford on a monthly basis with their limited income. Poor people can have ‘luxury’ goods like internet, refrigerators, phones; it’s just a very delicate balancing act of whatever money they have. The problem with being poor is that it is very difficult/almost impossible to save or invest; you are literally trying to break even month to month. I learned this from my experience growing up poor/attending college as a poor student who still relies on federal assistance.
